Brandon L. Comer has served as a Senior Advisory Board member and has been an Annual Sustaining Sponsor since 20/20’s inception. We are excited to announce that he has now signed on a the Corporate Sponsorship Chair for the 2019 Second Step Presidential Justice Forum!
Brandon serves as Managing Partner of Comer Capital Group, LLC, a SEC and MSRB registered municipal advisory firm where he oversees the firm’s strategy and financial services operations. In this role he oversees financial advisory services on Municipal Bonds, RAN’s, TIFs, Tax Exempt Municipal Leases, Public Utility Acquisitions and Public Private Partnerships. The firm represents over 40 municipalities across the country and has served as FA on over $2.1 billion in municipal bond transactions since 2012. Mr. Comer also currently serves as CEO of CCG Asset Management, LLC an affiliate SEC registered investment advisory firm that manages and invests operating funds and bond proceeds for municipalities and corporations. Since its inception in 2013, Mr. Comer has grown CCG Asset Management to over $1 billion in assets under management and non-discretionary advisement.
As the principal of one of the largest minority owned independent registered municipal advisory firms, Mr. Comer has made a commitment to assisting municipalities increase their fiscal position and gain cost effective access to the capital markets. This included the fiscal turnaround of Compton, CA, Benedict College, several cities, counties, and hospitals across the “Black Belt” and “Delta” regions of the Southeast, and currently his hometown of Gary, IN.
Prior to Comer Capital, Brandon most recently served as a Director for Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi overseeing Finance & Pricing and Corporate Quality.
Prior to that, he was an officer of Regions Financial Corporation, a top ten banking institution. While at Regions, Mr. Comer served as Assistant Vice President of Corporate Banking. In this post, he was responsible for overseeing complex and larger business relationships with middle-market companies, governments, and non-profit entities. His team analyzed financial statements, created financing proposals and negotiated terms and conditions for loans, notes, lines of credit, capital leases, etc. Additionally, he managed transactions that included real estate developments, leveraged buyouts and corporate acquisitions.
Prior to joining Regions, Mr. Comer worked as an Associate for a boutique investment bank in Atlanta. He grew the firm’s book of business in the Municipal market segment as an investment banker and public financial advisor.
Brandon holds a Master of Liberal Arts in Finance (Extension Studies) from Harvard University. Mr. Comer began his Undergraduate Studies in Finance at Xavier University of Louisiana and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Mississippi College.
Mr. Comer sits on the Advisory Boards of Mississippi College’s School of Business as well as Carver Development CDE (Carver State Bank). He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Central Mississippi Planning and Development District. Previously, Mr. Comer served as a Commissioner on the Morehouse Parish Sales & Use Tax Commission. He is an active member of the National Association of Securities Professionals, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and the Harvard Alumni Association.
